STEAM is an educational, inquiry based approach that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for student learning. The key component of STEAM is integration. Instead of teaching subjects independently, learning areas and concepts are taught through and alongside each other, allowing students to see that everything they are learning is connected.

STEAM encourages learners to to be problem solvers, innovators, creative and critical thinkers who are able to use ever-evolving and changing technologies in a variety of fields. It develops and fosters skills such as, questioning, collaboration, persistence, organisation and flexibility. At Galilee we use hands on, explorative, real life activities and experiences to promote STEAM learning concepts and skills.
