Our History

Galilee Regional Catholic Primary School is the only Regional Catholic school in South Melbourne and is situated on the former site of St Joseph’s Technical School which closed in 1988.

The opening of Galilee Regional Catholic Primary School in 1994 brought together four local Catholic primary schools to create one blended school community. The four schools were:

• Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Middle Park
• St Joseph’s, Port Melbourne
• Sts Peter and Paul’s, South Melbourne
• Sacred Heart, St Kilda West

We are a co-educational primary school with an interesting past, focused on bringing together communities with a shared goal of providing an education with strong Catholic values to families of South Melbourne and surrounding Bayside suburbs.
