Parent Involvement

At Galilee we have many ways in which we encourage our parents to get involved as we work to enrich our school programs, improve the environment and enhance our students' growth and learning.

Year Level Representative

Parents can be involved by being a year level representative. Year level representatives are responsible for bringing the year level together, distributing a year level contact list and other communication, putting on one event per year (with the assistance of the Parents Association) and liaising with the Community Partnerships Leader.

DOGS (Dads of Galilee School)

At Galilee, we have a group called DOGS (Dads of Galilee School). This is made up of Dads at Galilee who are interested in our school community. Events include Bunnings BBQ, an overnight camp and more.

Classroom Helpers

Parent helpers are encouraged at every level of schooling at Galilee. These parents participate in a three week training program to enable them to effectively support the teachers and the children.

Parents can also get involved by:

  • Volunteering at sporting events
  • Joining our excursions/incursions as a parent helper
  • Assisting at Fathers' Day Breakfast
  • Fundraising
  • Be a Guest Speaker
  • Social Events for Parents
  • Movie & Disco Night
  • Interschool Sport
  • School Sports Day
  • Sacramental Workshop Nights
  • Sacraments
  • Social Justice Activities

Please be mindful that a current and valid Working With Children Check is required to be supplied to the school before any parent can assist in the classroom, school event or excursion.
